We’ll organize the workshop, pay for the marketing, take the registrations and hold an end-of-workshop meeting so all of the attendees can discuss starting your a high school pickleball association for your state.
That will help get your state on the road to getting pickleball recognized as an official sport by your state’s interscholastic athletic association.
It Will Be YOUR Organization
The USHSPA will not “own” or run your state organization – that will be up to the people who want to get involved.
We’ll help you set up your first board of directors, find mailing lists of schools in your state, start a nonprofit and more.
The USHSPA will conduct low-cost coaching workshops across the U.S. for high school pickleball coaches.
These one-day workshops will also cover:
- High school sports program administration
- Intro to coaching teens
- Intro to teaching sports skills
- Rules and sportsmanship review
- Planning a season
- Model practice
- The Game-Based teaching method
- Many kids/few courts/one coach
- Drills
- Pre- and post-practice warmup and conditioning
- Teaching strokes
- Basic singles strategy
- Basic doubles strategy
- State pickleball association formation meeting (if desired)*
