HS Pickleball Coach Certification

Would you like to become a certified high school, junior high or middle school pickleball coach?

USHSPA high school coach certification is not a pickleball teaching certification, such as that offered by the commercial certifying organizations. It’s a pickleball coaching certification (with some teaching tips).

USHSPA’s low-cost, online high school pickleball certification will prepare you to run a three-month scholastic sports program. The certification training will cover topics such as:

  • Program administration
  • Budgeting
  • Coaching teens
  • Working with parents
  • Planning a season
  • State/conference rules
  • Running practices
  • Teaching strokes and strategies
  • Few courts/many players
  • Making lineups
  • Coaching during matches
  • Conditioning and nutrition

You can view the first training module here.

You’ll need to take and pass the Safe Play (online video) test, and you’ll get a free background check.

Any school looking for a high school pickleball coach will be able to see that you’ve demonstrated you can run a three-month school pickleball program, from your first meeting with your athletic director to your last match – and everything in between.

In addition, your players their parents and school athletic directors will see that you’re a certified pickleball coach.

Once you’ve earned USHSPA certification as a high school pickleball coach, you might want to get certified by one of the teaching organizations if you’re interested in teaching pickleball professionally – even part time.

USHSPA certification will improve your chances of earning a commercial certification and getting a higher rating.
